Robert Ivy Shows The Fruits Of A Life Well Lived

Robert Ivy has gained quite a bit of attention over the years. Most of the reasons have grown exponentially over time. He’s lived a life where the right choices inspire more of the same. And that kind of life tends to act as an inspiration. As such, one shouldn’t be surprised to find the reason for a new kind of attention.

Ivy’s receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters. This might come as a surprise to a lot of people though. Both those familiar with the award and those familiar with Ivy.

The reason is due to the fact that Robert Ivy gained much of his renown through achievements within the field of architecture. This is the first thing that will take people aback who know about the Arts and letters award. They’ll probably note that they seldom see it awarded to an architect. However, it’s even more remarkable when one looks further into it. Because he’s not just one of a rare few architects to achieve this award.

He’s actually the very first to do so. And of course there’s also the inherent nobility of the reward to consider. Even without considering profession one can see how important it is. Especially given that previous recipients have included such figures as Morgan Freeman.

CEO Robert Ivy is certainly standing among some amazing figures. But those coming to it with familiarity with the award rather than Ivy might have some questions. And the same can be said of people with the flip side of those interests. The link becomes clear when considering both as a singular whole though. The award is intended for people associated with excellence in the arts. And more specifically for those people who have some attachment to Mississippi.

Robert Ivy is the Executive Vice President and CEO of The American Institute of Architects. But the second part of the qualification comes from the fact that he’s from the region. Ivy noted that it’s a crowning achievement for any Mississippi native. Of course receiving an award isn’t anything new to him. He’s won numerous awards in the past. Even earning the title of master architect to show that he stands among the best of the best.

But earning the MIAL amounts to finding extra recognition and support at home. It’s a sign that this Mississippi native has earned the love and respect of his home. The very home which initially shaped his artistic views and sentiments. It’s a fitting award for someone who’s brought so much of that style to the world.
